Winemaking & Terroir: The Art of GAIA Wines Production

UNIQUE COMBINATIONS OF SOIL AND CLIMATE FOR UNIQUE WINE CREATIONS

The two vineyards of GAIA Wines, positioned in the volcanic landscape of Santorini and the high-altitude commune of Koutsi of Nemea, stand as premier examples of how soil, climate and human expertise converge to create world-class Greek wines.

In both areas, the chosen location, the soil characteristics, the climatic conditions, the humidity and temperature levels, are treated with respect but also the attention required for varieties such as Assyrtiko and Agiorgitiko, to perform their best.

By honoring the distinct microclimates of both PDO regions through low-intervention practices, wild fermentations, and meticulous oak aging, GAIA Wines continuously redefines the potential of noble Greek varieties for modern, demanding palates worldwide.

Παραγωγή Νεμέα

NEMEA, BLESSED LAND

Semi-mountainous, stony soils at an altitude of 850 meters, with relatively cold and wet winters and cool summers, are the special homeland of the variety of Agiorgitiko that offers us red wines with great aging potential.

SANTORINI, TIMELESS VALUE

Volcanic soil, very high summer temperatures, strong sea winds, compose the environment that for 3,000 years the autochthonous vineyards bear the local variety of Assyrtiko, mainly responsible for rare white wines.
